New Week, New Day, New Year – Business as Unusual.
For those of you looking for the wit, wisdom, and whimsy of President Paul, my apologies.
I’m Gary Stokes, President of Rotary 21, and of all the jobs I’ve had, this is the one of which I’m most proud.. It’s also the one that gives me the most heartburn.
In the past few months, we’ve seen our world change, our city change, and our Club change.
If you had told me a year ago, that we’d be in the middle of a global pandemic, local businesses would suffer, the school year would end early, it would be months before we could all gather face-to-face and Zoom would be a noun and not a verb- I would have asked which dispensary you were visiting.
But all of the above is the new normal..and in these uncertain times, the members of Rotary 21 have shown time and time again that when the crisis arrives, we find a way to help. Service above Self isn’t a slogan – it’s a way of life for the members of Rotary 21 and the millions of Rotarians around the world. But the job’s not done.
With the advent of this new year, there will be challenges, opportunities, and Rotary 21 members ready to do what it takes to renew spirits, restore confidence, and redoubling of efforts to be the best community partner in Spokane…the Community of Rotary.
See you on Thursday.
