This week’s Rotary story is about a Rotarian who works for Avista managing their corporate philanthropy and community investment programs. She grew up just south of Spokane in Pullman and lived in Spokane for 22 years before moving back to the family farm in 2014. Her husband retired from the Spokane Police Department and now farms 5,200 acres with his brother. Their daughter is a junior in high school.
She and her husband enjoy working in their yard, gardening together, and traveling to warmer climates in the winter months.
Her favorite movie is Moonstruck, and she usually listens to the 60’s music channel on satellite radio.
A new worthwhile investment for her is her health. She says she has just started so the dividends are small. She says it still feels selfish, but she can’t do much else if she’s always tired and feeling poorly. She has to take better care of herself in order to be of service to others.
Interesting fact…her first job was working with the summer janitorial crew at her school, so she knows the best way to clean and sanitize almost anything!
She joined Rotary Club 21 after learning that some of her friends and colleagues were members of Rotary and they were having a lot of fun! She enjoys meeting new people and working together for our community.
