3/26/26 Rotary Off the Cuff: Amy Higgins & Andrew Biviano

Would you rather drive or fly on a trip?

Amy: It probably depends where I’m going. If there’s a lot to see I would drive, but if it’s far away, I’d rather fly.

Andrew: If it’s a day, I’d rather drive, but if it’s more than that, I’ll fly.

What’s the smallest plane you’ve ever flown in?

Andrew: I got to leave on one of those little two-seaters from Felts Field, not a Cessna but similar. A friend of mine is a pilot, I got to see what that’s like to do that and it’s different. I liked it.

Amy: I don’t know that size it is, but the smallest 4-seater. Thank you, Carrie. I flew with my sisters into Mana Pools National Park in Zimbabwe in Africa.

What’s your favorite city that you’ve visited?

Amy: Well, overseas, probably one in Japan that I went to or in Australia. In the United States, I would say Nashville was my favorite. It’s fun!

Andrew: It’s a cliché for a reason, I’m lucky to travel a long way, but the favorite city in the world is Paris. It’s just amazing.

What’s the most adventuresome thing you’ve ever done?

Andrew: Last fall, for my wife’s 51st birthday, we hiked down to the bottom of the Grand Canyon and then back up in the same day and survived. That was pretty epic.

Amy: It has to be Mana Pools in Africa. We were amongst all the wild animals, and it was amazing. That’s the most adventurous for sure.

When did you join Rotary and who/what inspired you to join?

Amy: I grew up in a Rotary family. My dad and my grandfather, both members of this Club. My sister is a member. I joined in 2006 and it was just kind of always in our blood to join Rotary because we knew what Rotary is about from a young age.

Andrew: I’m kind of the opposite. No one in my family did Rotary, so I never really considered it. And it took a while for me to realize that Rotary is for me too, that I’m somebody who belongs here and I can network, make new friends, and also do some really good things. I joined about a year ago.

In case you missed their introductions, check out the new Rotary Club 2025-2026 members! More new member introductions coming soon.
