Happy New Year (World Division,) and Happy Half-Year (Rotary 21!) -
Normally this space would highlight initiatives, musings, and recently Rotary Poetry (which is its own rhyme,) but this week is the first in a series of updates from the Committee Chairs.
Over the course of the next six months, I’ll try to give every Committee an opportunity to contribute.

This Week - Membership Committee Co-Chair Bridget Barrington:
This year has been a year of learning to say the least. We have learned the art of mastering zoom, added some new membership tiers and had a targeted—successful membership drive. A drive that brought in 5 new strong recruits from fellow Rotarians and the publicity of the good work that we continue to do in our club. The most common response, when asked, “Why Rotary?” was that each of these new recruits wanted to be connected to something greater of themselves.
The pandemic has brought a collective spirit of hope for what has been done already, and what is still yet to be achieved. We have learned how to be extremely nimble, evolving, and innovative in our approach. We will continue to grow our member prospect pipeline when we identify those specific individuals who truly model service above self—and then simply make the ask.
On behalf of Membership Development thank you to those that are continuing to seek out those specific individuals that truly aspire to be the change we wish to see in this great community.
Please reach out directly to Membership Development to help be part of the conversation. Hindsight is now 2020. Happy 2021 to the best Rotary club in Spokane.
