A.o.K. Award

This nomination comes from Rotarian Molly Pepper - she writes:

I think every Rotarian appreciates Brian Newberry. And not just because he often brings Girl Scout cookies to our events. But also because of that.

After a bad fall, my mother’s 96-year-old friend was moved to a skilled nursing facility for rehabilitation. It will be a difficult recovery for this wonderful woman. She is a former Girl Scout leader, so I asked Brian if I could have some cookies to take to her. Instead, he put together a care package full of Girl Scout love. In addition to cookies, he gave her Girl Scout merit badges, a personalized Girl Scout ornament, and, most important, a note thanking her for her service to Girl Scouts and encouraging her to get well. The package brought tears to the eyes of everyone present. I believe Brian’s act of kindness will help her recover as she looks at the care package and remembers that she remains a part of the Girl Scout family.
