“See” you on Thursday...
If you’re a regular reader of this column (and I’m sure you never miss one,) the heading of this week’s edition is usually my sign-off.
But today, I’m leading with it because I might actually see you. In-person. At a Rotary meeting. Before the end of my Presidential term on June 30th.
A number of you have let us know you’ve received one (or both) of the vaccines. And that number continues to grow. Also, this latest phase announcement opens up vaccinations to those 60 and over starting in April with the possibility of an accelerated timeline for the rest by May.
All that leads to (very) cautious optimism, and the beginning of conversations by the Board starting this Tuesday.
However, before you start gassing up the car and trying to remember which slot to find your button, there are a lot of unknowns – for example:
- will the Spokane Club be open when we’re ready to meet in person?
- If not, what are our options for an in-person meeting?
- Will any venue be able to provide lunches?
- Will members who are used to Zoom be willing to meet in person?
- And, will we have the technical ability to make a hybrid meeting work for both groups?
As my TV news friends are prone to say – There are more questions than answers. But the first step will be tomorrow at the Board meeting. I’ll keep you posted. In the meantime, please continue to let
Rotary Office know once you are fully vaccinated. It will help as we make our decisions.
Thank you…but for now:
