Each week we will highlight a Rotary member and tell their story, so you can connect their face to their name and connect with them!
This week’s Rotary story is about a Rotarian who is the happily married husband of Dr. Vange Ocasio Hochheimer. They have been married for over 18 years and have 2 little boys, Noah age 12 & Luca age 10. They also have a Golden Retriever named Marvin and a Bernedoodle named Milo.
He has worked in the Financial Services industry for over 20 years and is currently the AVP of Washington Branches for Idaho Central Credit Union. He is in charge of opening their new Washington State market.
He loves anything that revolves around spending time with family & friends, as he says, that is truly the greatest thing in life! He loves skiing, lake activities, dining out, and recharging at The Hochheimer Ranch.
His favorite books are The Bible, Of Mice & Men, All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten, and The Go-Giver. His favorite movies include Braveheart, The Lion King, Die Hard (the greatest Christmas movie ever made), and Seven. His favorite music albums are Pearl Jam-Ten, Dave Matthews Band-Under the Table and Dreaming, Van Halen-The Best of Both Worlds, and Garth Brooks-Double Live.
Hands down, his most worthwhile investment is time spent with family & friends. He says that is truly the only real thing that matters in life. Nothing else comes close!
He says he is one lean mean Karaoke Machine! He serves on multiple boards and believes community service is vital. Oh yes…he is also fluent in German!
He joined Rotary almost 10 years ago under President Mike Church’s leadership. It was Greg Montabono & Scott Millsap that advocated for him to join as the youngest (at the time) Rotary 21 member. Their collective hope for him was to engage with our club's wisdom and learn how to engage in the community to help grow both Rotary and Spokane as a place of fellowship, happiness, and belonging. The ultimate goal was (and still is) Service Above Self. His hope for his Rotary membership is to bring others on board to experience the lifelong friendships and connections that are afforded via a life of service and friendship together.
