Good Monday to the members of the best Rotary Club in the World!
First, thank you all for your kind words during and after the meeting last Thursday. I really do care about this club and this community and the work we can do together.
The condensed version:
Over the course of the next year, we have challenges, opportunities, and potential solutions:
1) Membership – Net year to year, we are at one fewer member than we had this time last year. That’s a trend that we need to address soon and I thank all of the members of the Membership Committees for committing to the important work in the next year.
2) Mentorship and Fellowship – it’s critical to our future growth and success to ensure a viable and vibrant club. The HERO Plan (Help Everyone Reach One) will combine the efforts of Membership Development, Member Engagement, Mentor/Information to provide every new member with a Rotary 21 Mentor who will help them get acquainted, get acclimated and get involved.
On the Fellowship side, new members need to feel as if they are valued and valuable –from those making their first visit to those making their Ribbon Removal Ceremony. That extra added benefit – friendship and camaraderie - could be the difference between losing a member and gaining one (who brings a prospect.)
3) Partnership – As we all know Rotary 21 is the best Rotary Club (obviously) but we need to also be better partners to the other clubs in our District. To that end, I’ve reached out to Presidents of six area clubs (Rotary South, Aurora Northwest, Spokane North, Valley Sunrise, Greater Spokane Valley, and Liberty Lake,) to work on a project together. We meet this week to discuss.
Stay tuned…more to come
