A descendent of pioneers who arrived in the Washington territory via covered wagon, this Rotary 21 member grew up on a 5th-generation wheat and cattle ranch in Whitman County, graduated from the last class of Endicott High School before it was consolidated with St. John, and then graduated from the Cornell Hotel School. He lived and worked in Boston, New York, New Jersey, and Copenhagen, Denmark before returning to the Inland Northwest to attend the University of Idaho Law School and begin his law career in Spokane.
During his past 22+ years of legal practice, he has helped clients conduct over 100 private offerings of debt and equity valued at over $1 billion and buy or sell businesses valued at over $1.3 billion. He was awarded 2022 "Lawyer of the Year" for Corporate Law in Spokane based upon a survey of his peers.
His faith, friends, and family, including his wife, Lisa, and children, Alex and Anya, are the reason for all that he does. Active in the community, he has served as Board Chair of Habitat for Humanity, the Spokane Angel Alliance, and the Spokane Club and joined Rotary 21 because of its service and support for the city he loves to call home. He currently co-chairs the Rotary 21 Program Committee and will join the board of directors in June.
When he is not working, he enjoys concerts (his favorite bands include U2, Dave Matthews, and The Killers) dinner parties, golfing, mountain biking, snowboarding, wakeboarding, and playing pickleball with friends and family.
