F is for full
I remember the days of seeing our ballroom at the Spokane Club “FULL” of Rotarians and I want everyone to enjoy that full experience once again! The Paul McCartney concert I went to recently was full of people and the energy level of being in a full room helped with the experience of seeing a live concert performance once again!
I also ran Bloomsday on May 1st, and after two years of doing “virtual” Bloomsday runs, it was nice to once again get the full experience of running the race and the energy that comes from seeing other people running the race with me.
Last week the hit Broadway musical “Hamilton” opened its three-week run at the First Interstate Center for the Arts. One of my favorite musical numbers from that show is “
The Room Where It Happens.” The song is told from the point of view of Aaron Burr, who laments not being in the room where a great compromise was reached by political rivals Alexander Hamilton and Thomas Jefferson that shaped the course of the history of our great country. By not being in “The Room Where It Happens” Aaron Burr missed out on the full experience of helping shape our county.
Which leads me back to Rotary Club #21. I know many of you have good reasons for watching our meetings on Zoom and I appreciate you staying involved with the club. But if you have the capacity and ability to come back downtown to a meeting in person, please do so. I know you’ll enjoy the energy that comes with being back in person and the camaraderie of chatting with your fellow club members.
I hope to see you in person on Thursday!
