Each week we will highlight a Rotary member and tell their story, so you can connect their face to their name and make a connection with them!
This week’s Rotary story is about a Rotarian who has been married for 37 years to our President-Elect, Rod Price. She is the mother of three boys, Adam who lives on the West side, and Zachary and Matthew who live here in Spokane. She was born and raised in Spokane and graduated from Mead high school and Boise State University.
She worked in education for 15 years, but in 2021 she decided to get her real estate license. She is currently working for John L Scott Real Estate and enjoys helping people buy and sell homes in times of transition. Fitness and health are also passions of hers as well, and she teaches a fitness class for seniors at the YMCA.
She loves to spend time with their boys and their animals (no daughters-in-law or grandchildren yet) as well as extended family. She likes to walk, kayak, hike, work out, listen to good music, and attend live performances, especially when her niece is singing at the local brewery in their neighborhood!
Besides the time she has invested in supporting her family through numerous activities, schooling, and sporting events, the most worthwhile investment she has made is in working with a mindset coach. She says this resulted in her pursuing a new career path and generally reminds her to make the most of every day!
She is competitive (mostly with herself she notes), brave and determined. She says she does not like heights but has found herself in precarious positions on mountains with her husband…which she survived!
She serves as a Trustee and Volunteer Coordinator for the Spokane Jazz Orchestra and was a volunteer Youth Mentor with our own Interact Crew!
She has a deep family history with Rotary. Step-Dad Bob Carroll is a past District Governor of District 5080 and past President of the Deer Park Rotary Club. Mom, Carol is a Deer Park Rotarian. Sister, Amy is a Rotarian who recently moved back home to Spokane from California. And of course, her husband Rod is Club 21’s President-Elect!
She hopes to network with local business leaders, serve her community through volunteer hours, and develop strong, life-long bonds and friendships with her fellow Rotarians. Currently, she is our Chair of the Vocational Services committee.
