Notes from
President Paul

Greetings My Rotary Family!

BOOHOO! March madness is now March Sadness! Now we can only imagine the Zags as trophy winners!

The Coronavirus has impacted all of us in some way. For Rotary Club 21, the Board of Directors has suspended meetings until April 2nd. Please stay alert to future e-mails, e-news and Facebook postings regarding our return to the regular meeting schedule.

Rotary Committees are making individual decisions to meet face to face or via video and audio conferencing using our new Rotary Club “Zoom Video Conferencing” tool. If the committees are meeting via Zoom, the Chairs will send the login information to access the Zoom conferencing tool and if you have any troubles please e-mail Jenna at the Rotary office.

Rotary office update – The Empire Health Foundation is closing its offices for their staff to work remotely. They also are requiring that our Rotary office and Jenna work from home as well.  She will have the Rotary office phone and e-mail routed to her laptop and should not be too disruptive. The best way to reach Jenna is by e-mail.

Enjoy your favorite Irish dish this week and maybe some green beer to celebrate the Patron Saint of Ireland, St. Patrick.  Happy St. Patrick’s Day and most of all STAY HEALTHY!

                      Cheers,
Paul S. Viren
Spokane Rotary Club 21, President

Quote of the Week

“May your troubles be less, and your blessings be more, and nothing but happiness come through your door.”
Irish Blessing

Paul Harris Fellow

Last Thursday Jim Johnson received his second Paul Harris Fellow.

Jim joined Club 21 in 2018, is a recipient of the Gene Bronson award and serves on the Support Our Veterans and International Services Committee.

Jim is also the Club 21 Interact advisor and because of his dedication and leadership in taking our Interact kids to Ecuador last summer and helping us to connect with the Bahia de Caraquez Rotary Club, we will be the lead international sponsor on a water system project later this year.

Congratulations Jim on becoming a 2-time Paul Harris Fellow!
