At Rotary, we're committed to treating everyone with dignity and respect, allowing everyone's voice to be heard, and providing equitable opportunities for fellowship and leadership. Our members want and expect Rotary to be a diverse, equitable, and inclusive organization.
As such, our meetings need to be easily accessible to all members and guests. Our audio system needs to allow guest speakers to be heard clearly without interference. We would like better parking and some variation in our lunch menus.
We have met with the Spokane Club and gone over these concerns. Molly Sandhu, the Club's General Manager is going to work with his team on solutions and get back to the Board by the end of August. In the meantime, we would like to "field trip" to the Centennial Hotel for our August 25th meeting. This will give our members the opportunity to see what it's like to have our meetings in a different location.
The Centennial Hotel will be charging $28.00 for lunch that day. We are in discussions with The Centennial Hotel on reducing the price of lunch should we decide to eventually move our club meetings there on a long-term basis. In the meantime, we are hoping you will plan to attend the meeting on the 25th so we can gain your feedback through a follow-up focus group that will be very valuable to the Board as we go through this process. Additionally, while we continue our lunch meetings at the Spokane Club, the price for all lunches will be $20 starting September 1, 2022. The Spokane Club charges Rotary Club 21 $20 per meal and our Rotary Club now has to pass this full cost on to our Rotarian members. Our budget will no longer support the current $5 per Rotarian lunch subsidy.
